Burnham and Highbridge Band
Welcome to the home of the Burnham and Highbridge Band. Here at Burnham we try to uphold the traditions of the brass band movement, playing for enjoyment as well as to please an audience.
The band first started in 1945 and in 2015 celebrated it's seventieth anniversary with a sell out concert at The Princess Theatre.
In 2016 we played the opening set on the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday of the Glastonbury Festival. In the same year we came fourth overall in the Exmouth Entertainment Contest - not bad for a non-contesting band!
Originally called the Burnham and Highbridge Services Band, formed at the end of hostilities in Europe, the band was soon recognised as the official Town band, making its first public performance a year later. From carnivals to contests, carols and concerts, the band has been an active presence in the local community ever since including regular concerts throughout the year at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre in Burnham-on-Sea.
We can be in demand over the busy summer and Christmas periods so if you want to book us for an event, please contact us as early as possible using our contact form.
